Silk hand-painted handkerchief

Design notes:
original design hand painted onto pure featherweight silk, with hand rolled hems.

Designs and hand paints each of these gorgeous 100% silk handkerchief , using a specially formulated French fabric paint. First, she chooses the particular silk, and stretches it on a specially designed rack. Then she uses a variety of painting methods to create the diverse effects seen in the finished scarves. Once the painting is completed, the silk is dried, the design set with heat, and the piece is washed and prepared for the finish work. Sandra finishes some pieces with machine hemming and hand hemming combined, and others with her own fine hand hemming all around. Each piece is unique.
