Shepherdess is dragons daughter

There was a time when every village had an emperor. There were so many emperors that you could hardly count them. The forests were full of dragons that would come to the villages and steal the most beautiful girls. There lived an emperor at that time, who had seven beautiful girls, but the most beautiful of all was the youngest one. Her name was Crocus. All the emperor's males had proposed to marry the girls, but they would continually refuse. One day the emperor of the next village gave a party and invited the girls. Crocus met a handsome boy whose name was Sweet Basil. Towards the end of the party a dragon came and stole Crocus, but Sweet Basil promised the girl's father that he would find the girl, be she dead or alive. Sweet Basil started his voyage to look for the girl and after a long walk he stopped by a farmer's house to have some rest and some food. He told the farmer his story and they advised him to go to Baba-Cremenea (an old woman) who could help him find Crocus. The old woman enchanted the young man and his horse and thus they could fly over a bridge and reach the Dragon's castle. On their way to the castle they met a shepherdess, who was in fact Dragon's sister. Sweet Basil asked the girl if she could help him find a job at the castle and she suggested to him to take care of the goats. He accepted the job and lived at the castle for a while spending a lot of time with Dragon's sister, who told him how her brother had stolen Crocus when he was at the party. Then Sweet Basil thought of a trick: pretending he was in love with her, he asked her to marry him which she agreed. During the wedding party, when Dragon showed up, he killed him, and took Crocus and ran away with her. They got married and had a lot of children and grand-children, so all the flowers called Sweet Basil and Crocus are their descendants.
